Hospital leaders set post-pandemic agenda

Private hospital groups will need to focus on improving patients’ experience, workforce planning and the role of AI in healthcare delivery if they want to succeed in the future, according to a panel of senior executives at the HealthInvestor Summit 2021 held on 2nd November 2021.

Considering what comes next for the acute care sector were Pablo Pieri from Circle Health Group, Dr Brian Donley from Cleveland Clinic London, Chris Blackwell-Frost from Nuffield Health, John Reay of HCA and Mary Mundy of Capsticks Solicitors.

Healthcode’s Fiona Booth chaired the lively session, one of the first opportunities for hospital decision-makers to meet in person since the pandemic struck.

“After being restricted to virtual meetings for so long, it was great for everyone to meet and exchange ideas face-to-face,” Fiona commented. “Maintaining these strong personal connections across the sector is essential as we navigate the transition to a post-pandemic world because we are all facing similar challenges and we can best address them by working together.

“While technology gives us the means to deliver advanced medical treatments and services, we all agreed that healthcare has to be about human beings. Ultimately, the real strength of private hospitals rests in our people, their high-quality interactions with patients and the compassionate care they provide.”
