Collate the documents you’ll need to register for a PPR profile

More than 45,000 practitioners have registered for a profile on The PPR, a secure location for all your private practice details. Once you’re up and running, you can apply for insurer recognition, share info with others in your network and make people aware of your capabilities and credentials.

Setting up your profile is a straightforward process which you can do in your spare time . However, one thing that’ll definitely help is to have all the relevant documents to hand before you start. The files you upload to your profile can’t be bigger than 5MB and must be in PDF, PNG, JPG or GIF format.

A reminder of what you’ll need (those with * are mandatory)

  • A photograph of you – a formal head shot is suggested
  • An NHS written reference* is required for certain professions (more details in our other blog)
  • Relevant documents (e.g. letters, transcriptions etc) if you’ve ever had your practising privileges withdrawn, or been subject to investigation or proceedings by the police or professional regulator*
  • Certificates for any medical/clinical training you have completed*
  • Current Disclosure and Barring Service certificate
  • Current Medical Indemnity Insurance certificate*
