Meet Healthcode's Product Marketing Manager

With over 30 years’ experience working within private practice management, Desné’s been a key part of the Heathcode team since March 2019 and is responsible for ensuring our products fit the needs of our customers.

Desné shares her thoughts and insights.

If you could change one thing about the private medical sector, what would it be?

Thinking about normal life in the 2020s, the private medical sector does seem to lag behind in terms of acceptance and use of new IT technology. I would love people to explore the potential for collaboration and sharing of ideas and data (subject to GDPR, of course!).

What’s your #1 tip for Healthcode customers?

Give us feedback… we’re always happy to look at how you use or want to use technology.

Who or what has been the biggest influence in your career and why?

Technology and seeing how it fundamentally changes the way we work, hopefully for the better. Whilst many practices aren’t yet paperless, they are considerably more connected and able to find information quickly and easily.

Which sector (outside healthcare) do you think has lessons for our industry?

Travel and hospitality also deal with complex bookings and customer requirements. This sector has been transformed with shared booking systems used by travel agents, websites and venues alike. The result has been improved customer journeys & service and improved occupancy. Imagine that for private healthcare!

Which organisation has had the most impact on your career?

Nuffield Hospitals. When I first started with them as a student in a part-time holiday/weekend role I worked in many of the admin departments from switchboard to pharmacy, giving me the opportunity to talk to patients, clinicians, support staff and others. My first full-time role was the Outpatient Manager at The Fitzroy Nuffield where I set up and ran the very first Nuffield Health Screening Unit. This gave me a good grounding in all non-clinical aspects of the sector. Joining Healthcode allows me to use this experience to develop things from the customer perspective.
