Secure Messaging

Medical insurers have a duty to ensure that patient information is stored and transmitted securely. Standard, unencrypted email should never be used to transmit confidential information; neither should this information be transmitted by fax.

Healthcode's secure messaging service, which uses encryption to online banking standards, allows the efficient transmission of confidential information between insurers, hospitals, consultants and specialists. Insurers can use this to respond and send queries of the following nature:

  • Confirmation or discussion on pre-authorisations
  • Member policy details
  • Receive medical reports
  • Invoice queries
  • Discuss coding procedure
