Healthcode Code Map Maintenance and Group Code Sets

From 19 March 2012

The ability to edit ‘Code map Maintenance’ and ‘Group Code Set’ facilities will be withdrawn.
Providers and Insurers will now have read access only..
All Charge Code and Group Code Set system mappings/amendments will be carried out in house by Healthcode.

Healthcode supported file formats policy

Healthcode historically was able to accept billing files in ASCii (known as ‘JEDI’) format as well as XML. The ongoing acceptance of the legacy JEDI format causes on-going operational difficulties and prevents progress and developments to the industry as a whole. In a similar vein the output of remittance files for providers is ASCii format also constrains development in this field.

Accordingly Healthcode is applying the following policy:

Electronic Billing

From 1^st January 2011, Healthcode will only accept billing files from new providers or vendors using the XML format. This policy also applies to any existing providers migrating to new systems providing submission of electronic bills.

From 1^st July 2013, Healthcode will no longer accept bills using the JEDI format. Beyond that date providers submitting electronic bills via Healthcode must be doing so via the XML interface.
