Healthcode is a secure online billing and payment tracking application for Specialists, Medical Secretaries and Group Practices. The service allows registered users to either: |
Key billing information directly to the Healthcode website. |
Access details of the work carried out in Hospitals and certain Private Patient Units within the NHS for participating Insurers. |
It delivers to the desktop key information required by Insurers to pay the bill leaving the user simply to confirm what has been done and to enter the fee. |
Invoice Auto Population |
The Auto-Population feature Healthcode delivers within its service provides registered users with data in a template to which the bill may be added and dispatched to the relevant Insurer. The bill detail is auto generated and all you do is add your fee. The template provides the user with the key information required for a bill including: |
Patient demographics |
Required Insurance information. |
Episode details (key dates and locations) |
Diagnosis and procedure codes |
The user simply needs to confirm what they are charging for (i.e. initial consultation, surgical procedure etc.) and the amount to charge. The bill will then be complete and can be sent to the Insurer. Furthermore, if the Specialist delays billing until the hospital has billed, not only will they benefit from the Auto-Populated template, they will also avoid the need to collect the policy excess. This will have been deducted from the Insurer's payment to the hospital and therefore collection will become the hospital's responsibility. |

Guideline Pricing |
Guideline Pricing, allows you to define the price for charges and procedures on an Insurer by Insurer basis. |
will then calculate the invoice price for you, even as far as deriving the fees from complexity schedules and applying multi-procedural pricing formulae. |
It works even on non-procedural charges and can be applied to your self-pay patients as well as those that are insured. |
Integrated Member Enquiry |
Integrated ME delivers patient demographic data to the user via a search request. It is predominately for use with outpatient bills where no subsequent inpatient treatment is anticipated or where the Specialist does not wish to wait for the inpatient treatment to be billed by the hospital. |
Member Auto-Population |
Member Auto-Population (not to be confused with Invoice Auto-Population) is used in conjunction with ME. Matched data from the search can be used to populate the system database with the patient record. The following information will be populated: |
patient surname, forename, date of birth & gender. |
patient address & postcode. |
patient Insurer & the policy number. |
Payment Tracking |
Healthcode can track payments against any bill – either electronic, paper, insured or self-pay - entered into the system. Payment Tracking will summarize the status of bill payments and list all bills with amounts out-standing together with an ageing debt schedule. The user will be presented with a searchable summary of outstanding bills. |
On selecting an invoice, the user will then be able to add: |
date of payment. |
who payment was received from (Insurer, Patient, etc.) |
payment method (Cheque, Credit Card, BACS, Cash, etc.) |
amount paid |
