Healthcode provides secure and trusted technology to virtually every private hospital in the UK and a growing number of specialists and medical secretaries. We are constantly striving to bring our users enhanced interactivity, maintain our unblemished security record and provide the modern market with credible, trustworthy and reliable hospital and practice management tools. Our suite of products have been carefully developed to change in line with the needs of the Specialists, Medical Secretaries, Practice Managers, Hospitals and Insurers.

In 2002 Healthcode introduced HC VEDA^®, an internet based system to exchange business data, to securely distribute and validate Hospital and Specialist bills to Private Medical Insurance (PMI) companies. It works in conjunction with Hospital and practice systems and enables Healthcode to act as the UK's medical bills clearing house.

In 2003, Healthcode started to offer Membership Enquiry services enabling providers to trace the insurance records of patients quickly via a secure web-based application with near real-time processing.

In 2004, Secure Messaging Service was bought to the healthcare community enabling hospitals; insurers and specialists to securely transfer confidential messages between any of the parties on the network.

In 2005, Healthcode launched ePractice biller and ePractice biller Plus, providing specialists and medical secretaries with tools to manage all key patient-billing events.

In 2006, VEDALite was bought to market to serve small volume insurers, third party administrators and other payors (e.g. Embassies, Health funds, hospitals) receiving bills. This is a condensed version of HC VEDA^®, which helps small businesses take their first step towards electronic billing.

In 2007, Healthcode developed the NHS Code Toolkit allowing providers to translate private health codes to public health codes and vice versa. Pre-authorisation was bought to the community enabling hospitals to electronically request confirmation that the proposed procedure is covered within the patient's policy.

In 2008, Healthcode launches ePractice manager, a comprehensive on-line system offering quick, secure access to all the information needed to manage all aspects of a Private Practice for medical secretaries, practice managers and specialists.

Information security is at the heart of what we do, the protection of patient-identifiable data is critical to Independent practitioners, hospitals and insurers under increasing pressure to ensure the right controls are in place.

We operate an Information Security Management System relating to the provision of medical billing and transactional systems and related services. The system complies with the requirements of ISO/IEC 27001:2005, in accordance with the Statement of Applicability version 3.
